A range of hand embroidered and applique panels and quilts from different community development projects throughout India. Each piece reflects the skill of the artisans and regional design traditions.

We also have a range of embroidered silk panels that are equally suited for wearing as a shawl or using as a throw or a table runner.

Wall hangings add warmth and richness to a room and also help to insulate sound. There are many occaisions when a wall hanging may add more to a room than a painting or a print.

Patchwork and hand quitled bedcover - large

This bright quilt is made of a range of cotton fabrics, some hand block printed and some plain The quilt is hand stitvhed in with squares and rectangles in varying sizes and colours. One the patchwork front is completed it is hand stitched with rows of stitching less than 1cm apart over the whole body of the quilt in blocks of colour. This makes an added layer f colour and design on the face of the quilt.

The quilt is reversible with a plain cotton fabric and the cloured rows of stitching.

These quilts are made by tirbal and urban slum women living in and around Udaipur in India. These women are members of SADHNA an orgaisation focusing on empowering women through income generation.
