Fabric of Life was founded in 2003. Over that time we have met many people, sold many textiles and undertaken textile conservation treatments of 100's of textiles. Here are a few comments from our customers.
I have this a.m. seen the restored School Banner and am so thrilled with the finished result. Thank you so much for your part in helping to prolong the life of this treasure of our Church.
Several of our Guild ladies were present too and they expressed what fine work you have done. Interestingly, the French newspaper you found in the backing, gives credence to the story of the origin of the banner.
Textile Conservation workshops in conjunction with Adelaide City Council 2016
Just a quick note to say a big thank you for the fabulous workshop last week.
Really appreciated your generosity in sharing your expertise Mary, and seeing the diversity of beautiful textiles brought along.
It was wonderful!

Mary Jose, textile conservator at the “Fabric of Life”, returned the
restored verandah chair to Urrbrae House. Mary has done a
magnificent job which was funded by a donation from the Urrbrae
House snooker group led by Richard Wells. The Friends of Urrbrae
House committee has agreed to fund the conservation of the second
verandah chair which is now being undertaken by Mary Jose. Mary
has done some excellent conservation work for the house over the
years, which has included tub chairs in the library and curtains in
the drawing room.

It is wonderful to have the opportunity to hear about your experiences working with artists and communities from Ernabella and Gujarat, particularly as many of these artists are represented in the QAG Collections.......It is always a pleaseure to hear from speakers who have engaged directly with communites and who have an obvious passion for their subject.
