A Vast Emporium:
Tales of Asian Art Dealers in a Global Age
Saturday 28 August 3-5pm
Join us for an afternoon at the historic Beltana House in the city, studio of textile artist
Cheryl Bridgart, to reminisce and celebrate the trade in Asian Art as described by three of
Adelaide’s best known and long established dealers and conservators.
Paper conservator David Button will recount his experiences in acquiring and conserving
Japanese art works while Mary Jose, Fabric of Life, will discuss the finer points of Asian
textiles and finally Peter Roberts, formerly of Moghul Antiques and Small and Whitfield
Auctioneers, will describe his experiences in the trade.
The event will conclude with a tour of Cheryl’s SALA exhibition on view on the premises.
