Fabric of Life Update
Fabric of Life will no longer be taking on new textile conservation clients. I will continue to complete all scheduled textile conservation treatments for existing clients, ensuring the same level of care and attention that has guided m work for decades.
As I step into this new chapter, the focus will shift toward other projects and spending more time on the Yorke Peninsula.
To all the clients who have supported Fabric of Life over the years — thank you. It has been quite a journey, both literally and metaphorically. The textile world has introduced me to extraordinary people across Australia and internationally, and each connection has enriched my practice.
Spanning nearly fifty years, this work has been fascinating, rewarding, and deeply fulfilling. I am grateful for every textile entrusted to me and every story shared along the way.
I will continue to make handmade lampshades from handmade fabrics
and offer handmade textiles for sale.
The beauty of the handmade is hard to give up!
At Fabric of Life, we have specialised in the conservation, restoration, and display of both contemporary and antique textiles from cultures around the globe. Our commitment is to honour and protect textile artworks, ensuring they can be appreciated for generations to come.
While our textile conservation treatments will now be limited we are happy to help with advice and referrals to appropriate specialists.
We work closely with individuals, collectors, and galleries, offering professional textile conservation services that support the safe handling, preservation, and exhibition of treasured textiles.
In addition, we curate and sell a distinctive collection of handcrafted pieces — including global textiles, artisanal lampshades, greeting cards, and fashion accessories — celebrating the vibrant traditions and stories woven into every thread.
