A contemporary suzani with  finely embroidered pomegranate  motifs, handmade in Ubekistan.   Hand-stitched in chain stitch on a silk/cotton "adras" ground fabric.  The silk threads are dyed with onion, pomegranate and indigo. There is a soft graduaton of colour in the silk threads 
 
This suzani will add warmth and style to any room.  Every time you look at a suzani embroidery you will notice something new.  You can see how these traditional Uzbek textiles influnced the textile designer, William Morris.
 
This suzani has been mounted on a  soft terracotta linen covered stretcher using archival support materials.  It can be hung either portrait or landscape  as it is or it could also be framed and glazed
